   Flash Flood Watch

   We are getting a lot of rain here this morning. Forecast says most if not the rest of the day and tonight. Possibly more tomorrow morning and afternoon. So the National Weather Service has put us under a flash flood watch through Saturday morning. We may get total rainfall of up to 6 inches by tomorrow.

   We were going to head north to Des Moines this morning to visit Aunt Louise, and we were ready to not go if it was raining. So it was a no-go for us. We will hunker down here and try again next Monday morning.

   Yesterday we expected some relatives to come down as Ronnie, one of our cousins, was to finish up the bathroom in the basement of our daughter’s home. His mother Linda, my wife’s sister-in-law, starts chemotherapy next Monday. So wife baked a ton of bread, cinnamon rolls, and other goodies. Well, the decision was not to come as our granddaughter is still under the weather with her flu and no one wanted Linda to catch anything that would throw her chemo treatments off schedule. Meant that we gave a bunch of the baked goodies to our daughter and some to our granddaughter (the married one across the street).

   So far, unless they decide not to do so because of the weather, our three grandkids from Des Moines are due in this afternoon to spend the weekend with our daughter and with us. Been awhile since we have seen the three, so quite happy they are coming for the weekend.

   Had some enquiries about advertising on the Iowadawg Blawg. Had to explain that no, this is my personal blog and do not want to sell advertising on this blog.
