Okay, so saturday a surprise birthday party for my wife. And guess what? Since no one told me about it, and at last moment I was rushed out of house to get there prior to my wife, I did not bring our camera. So I took no pictures. And come to find out, except for a few pictures here and there, not too many were actually taken. Some of the kids took lots of pictures, but they were like close ups, as in your face and click. Now waiting for everyone to send us whatever pictures they took, and have to pick up the daughter’s camera to get the card to transfer everything to our computer. Thus it may be a few days before there are any pictures of this happy event.
Saturday’s other big event? The Iowa Hawkeyes beating up on number 5 Penn St. That has put the unranked Hawkeyes up to now being ranked at number 13! Now if the Hawkeyes can keep up their winning ways, they have a good shot at getting into top 10, maybe (just maybe) be up their with Texas and Florida. Wooo…that would be a game I would love to see, the Hawkeyes taking on the Longhorns.
Of course coming home saturday night from the daughter’s meant we came home with 4 grandkids. The two older boys knew they were staying but then grandpa just had to say a certain granddaughter from Missouri could stay the night. Now that was fun, as I just walked away and let my lovely wife explain to some crying girls why they could not come. Of course, I paid later for what I had said! So of course the grandson, the brother of the granddaughter staying, wanted to come and finally wife said okay as they were leaving early in the morning. Breakfast next morning was fun, not one of the grandkids wanted pancakes, french toast, or even sausage and eggs. Wonder if it was because I said I would make any of the above items? Everyone then had toast (surprising since we had wheat and not one grandkid wants wheat).
Their parents came by early sunday morning (pre 9am) and picked up their two and went back to Missouri, in time to watch the awful Chiefs game.
That afternoon, wife and I went down to the casino for a bit. We lasted a couple of hours playing the slots before losing everything. On the way home, wife said probably would have done better to spend the money on scratch tickets. Might have, but will never know.
Now watching the Cowboys play the Panthers. Still scoreless with about 12 minutes left in 2nd quarter.
Yesterday was sunny and pretty warm. But in the evening with the sun going down, the wind picked up a lot and it got cool. Today, partly cloudy and very windy. So it got cooler as the day progressed. Am thinking that winter can not be far ahead for us.

Surprise Birthday Party for Wife
Our son and his brood came up yesterday from Missouri. Plus the 3 grandkids from Des Moines came down. So 7 grandkids here this weekend. Only the two oldest boys are staying with us, all the others at our daughter’s place up the street.
Well, our son had told his mother yesterday that he wanted to go to the casino and wanted her to go with him (I did not want to go and told wife bonding time for you with me out of the picture). He said he would come by and pick her up. Well, I fixed my lunch and after eating, I had just started running water in the sink to wash the dishes when the son showed up and he whispered to me that a surprise party at the Lions hall for my wife and I was to go at once.
So I told grandson let me take you back while grandma goes to the casino. We left right behind son and wife and we went to the Lions hall. Anyways, it was a surprise for the wife! And me because not one person had let me in on this for fear I would let wife know. Can you believe, the kids and grandkids did not let me know? Besides the kids and the grandkids, her brothers and sisters from all over Iowa came, assorted nieces and nephews, and more. Even had a big bunch from her ex-husbands side show up (all nice people and they also had accepted me when I married my wife and we all get along super). And a surprise again was that her sister-in-law was brought to the party (again, her ex’s sister and a wonderful person). She is not doing good, the doctors gave up on her cancer as there is nothing they can do…so for her it is a day to day thing and she is in very bad shape. So that was a tearful reunion (and with the two of them crying and hugging, it was hard for me not to join in).
Each one of the grandkids had created their own birthday sheet (8×11 1/2 paper) for grandma, plus one granddaughter had painted a bobble head doll just for her (precious and it will have a place of honor here). And going back to when wife was younger and everyone had called her Cinderella because she was always cleaning and sweeping, they got together a big basket of cleaning supplies, brushes, etc. And her son and his wife got her an IOWA snuggie! Now I have to get one! Plus one of her brothers and all his brood went together and got her a whole bunch of scratch off tickets. (those she scratched off later after the party at our daughters house, got $58!!). Plus quite a few other gifts and tons of cards.
Anyways, it was a super surprise party for my wife! Her kids had planned this for about 2 months. Oh, they thought they lost the element of surprise last night when we went over to our daughters’ and they were trying to find places to hide the birthday cake, the gifts and other items. Even used the excuse of making sure all the grandkids and us knew not to use one bathroom because the toilet bowl was plugged up. After a bit, the son and son-in-law got our keys and went to our place to get our plunger as they said they must of lost theirs. So they came back with the plunger and moved everything from the bathroom to another room. Then said that the bathroom was okay.
All of us, the kids and grandkids, had dinner at the daughters’ house and had fun for a bit before the IOWA HAWKEYE vs Penn St game. Which, as I post this, Hawkeyes recovered a fumble with about 8 minutes in the game left. They are ahead 18-10! Wife is still at daughters’ as I came home at half time not feeling good.
And that was our day today! One suprised wife and one befuddled husband not let into the surpise. And no, I am not saying how old she is, even though the grandkids made sure everyone knew! Over and over, including making sure grandma knew for as they said, at that age she is very forgetful and must be reminded. Oh, those grandkids!!!

I are Normal!
Yesterday afternoon the nurse from my urologist’s office called with the findings of those x-rays taken monday morning. Every thing he saw for my kidneys, the tubes from the kidneys to the bladder, and my bladder all showed normal. Yeah, that took a big load off my mind and more off my wife’s mind! So with all being normal, I don’t have to worry about or go in for another operation to get into the kidney tubes, etc. But I am going back in December for a check up as he wants to go back into my bladder with a scope to check everything to make sure all is well and nothing is growing back.
Been nice and cool the past few days here. Telling you, if it stayed like this year round, we could bear it for sure. Even the flowers in the gardens are liking this cool weather as when the sun comes out, they just look good. Especially the moss rose that popped up all over the garden. Never planted those so it must be seed floating from our neighbor who has beds of moss rose. Interesting in that each plant has different colored flowers. One is red, another is yellow, one is white and another is blue. And more interesting is that next year each plant could then have a different color! Told wife let all of them grow out big and take over some of the garden.
Just because I like this song!

X-Rays this morning
Went to hospital this morning for IUP. Tell you, not being able to eat anything since midnight is a killer! Then to top it off, to not be able to drink coffee? That is freaking mean of the medical community. Could only drink water after midnight, and I tell you that drinking water when I first get up in the morning? That does not cut it to get me fully aware and ready to meet the day.
Anyways, a rain storm went through Winterset and snapped off the electricity at the hospital. So the electric sliding doors were not sliding as it takes them time to reset themselves. But a kind man on the inside did open them with great strength. And the electricity snapping off for just a minor amount of time meant the radiology department had to reset and check all the machines. Oh, we drove through rain from here to there.
First they had to draw some blood from me to make sure I was okay to be able to have the dye solution pumped into the blood system. That took about 20 minutes for them to check my blood and okay me. Then they gave me two gowns (one for front, one for back) and after I put them on, laid out on the x-ray table. Totally uncomfortable position, plus looking up at bright lights did not help. So one of the techs there (all cute women by the way) took three stabs at putting in the needle into a vein in my right arm. Needle a thick one no less and it did sting a bit each time. She gave up and another nurse then took my left arm and she did good getting the needle into me the first stab. Then the dye solution went into me quite fast and after about 5-10 minutes they took like 6 x-rays of my urinary system (kidneys, bladder, etc) over about 20 minutes. Then I got to get dressed and leave.
Will find out later this week from the urologist what he and others found on the x-rays. Give him (and me) a better idea of what is wrong with left kidney (actually just a very small portion at bottom where tubes are that go into bladder is shown to be non-functioning last month) and the tubes leading into my bladder. And what options are then open to fix what is wrong.
Now, are you not just tickled to death to read about my medical problems here?
Yesterday was my wife’s birthday! No, not saying her age. I want to live a bit longer thank you very much….
Tomorrow morning we go to Des Moines. Visit Aunt Louis, then to my wife’s birthday lunch with our cousins. Maybe drop off at Aldi’s on the way home.
Wife called my dad yesterday and talked to him for some time. He is doing good. Going back for another doctor appointment to check out his problems. Hey, he said he has a hard time reading the calendar (he is like my wife, has birthdays-anniversaries-etc written down on his calendar), can’t hear much and still has his dizzy spells, but by god he is okay to drive!
Over the weekend I started another blog! Yes, I just found the domain name and liked it, so I registered it and threw up a blog on it. It is called the Cheap Pig Blog and will be where I showcase my first huge digital products package of 55 downloades at a low price plus other digital products I find to sell very cheap, cheap enough for everyone to pig out. Do visit the blog and check out what is there now.
And then since I got the script super cheap, I opened up another site today. Yes, I should not have but I did. It is a nice little proxy list site where the proxies are listed in order of how fast they are. If you are a proxy owner, do stop by Fast Proxies and add your proxy or proxies free.
