Great Weekend and Advertise Here

Man, the weather has been cooperating the past 4 days here. Sun shining and off and on wind. Highs into the low 30′s (okay, 33..but that is a low 30, right?).

Microwave oven is on the list of things that may be replaced if it bothers my wife much more. The plastic button to push to open the door is not working too good. One of the little plastic nipples that holds the button in place broke off. So off and on, have to put spring where it belongs and push the button in the opposite direction to reset it and be ready for the next time wife or I need to open the door. Fun to hear my wife cuss when the button pops out! hahahahhaha

Friday afternoon we went grocery shopping. Nice day like I said, got up to 29F and felt good. Of course, wife was a bit antsy as I drove. The roads were mostly hardpacked snow so had to keep the speed down and be a bit more careful on the curves and hills. But no problems going to Winterset and back.

Yesterday was the grand tour of homes here in our town. Yes, go visit homes on the christmas tour. How many homes were in this grand tour? Would you believe two (2)? Hahahahahha…the town betterment committee sure dropped the ball on this one. No advertising, no big push, no nothing! Our daughter and her husband’s home were half of this grand tour of homes decorated out for christmas. She said, well first place gets $50 and second place gets $25 so we will get something this year. She had a grand total of 2 people yesterday visit her home. Yes, just 2 ladies together were the only people to do the grand tour! We went over and wife took pictures of the inside all decorated for christmas.

Then yesterday, we got a mystery christmas card. Yep, addressed corretly to us except for the misspelling of our last name. Had a return address, but no name. Inside was a picture of a young couple, plus a little boy and girl. We had no idea who they were! No writing, no note on who they were. Just a greetings from them using only their last name. So we spent all day trying to find out who they were. We know nobody in SC (South Carolina). Well, wife called some of her sisters and they had no clue. Then in the evening I called my dad and at first he had no clue, though he said he knew people in SC. And he had never hear of the last name given. But once I gave him the city in SC, Beaufort, he said hang on, that rings a bell, let me check my address book. Well, he comes back and says, that is my granddaughter and your niece! Yes, our niece who had divorced her husband earlier this year and moved from Florida to SC. And got married again (did not get an invite or word of this). So the mystery christmas card was solved!
