Toaster is Toast
Well that mouse in the house? It is history this morning. Of course, wife would not touch the trap, opting to wait for me to remove it. And not just dump the mouse in the trash. Oh no, had to put in baggy (wife had everything ready for me), seal it, then put said baggy with mouse into a plastic bag and then seal the plastic bag. Then she let me throw it into the trash bin. And then of course, new cheese and trap just in case there might be another mouse in the house or another one will enter to get warm.
Then the wife told me the toaster is toast. No, it did not quit working or anything like that. Seems said mouse in the house left droppings in the toaster, probably getting down to get bread crumbs. Wife said no way would she ever use that toaster again. Next time we head out shopping, we get a new toaster and this time, she will get a container to put it in! Told her, why not buy a new one and never open the damn box. She gave me that look of hers that says “don’t mess with me buddy, I have ways to make life miserable for you”.
And a bit cold this morning, with -11F and a windchill of -31F. Todays high is up to a balmy -1F! But no snow or ice. And none in the forecast for the next 5 days. In fact, a warming trend with temps to get to 31F for a high Saturday. Break out the bubbly!
My regular readers know what I think of the entire government bailout. Complete waste of tax dollars, complete waste of money our kids, our grandkids and our greatgrandkids will be paying for. Free markets should have ruled, but no our government has to fiddle and faddle with the whole process just to save some fat cats from losing their companies. Now today, I found this article that really explains a lot. And how all those companies, brokerage houses, banks, and yes the auto companies, lost so much money and are still losing money. Read it!
The real cause of the financial crisis
And two facts (whether useless or not, very interesting) that make me glad I am not part of that minority of people on our planet.
1. One-fourth of the world’s population lives on less than $200 a year.
2. Ninety million people survive on less than $75 a year.
Now you all have a good day.
